British streamer and fighting game competitor, Broski, has given his predictions on the characters he thinks will be top in 2026 for Street Fighter 6.
In a recent video, Broski outlined why he felt these characters will be good and advised his viewers to ‘invest’ in them to ensure victory in the year ahead.
He did give a caveat, stating that character enjoyment should always be paramount and that mechanics should be a secondary concern.
According to the Capcom Cup 2025 qualifier, he believes Sagat will be huge this year. His rationale is that he already received a buff in the last small patch that came out in December, and he is already strong. Broski predicted that Sagat won’t get nerfed in the big season 4 patch coming later in the year and this only means his value will rise and rise.
Broski also highlighted Terry as another character who will only get better and could even be the alternative to Ryu if the latter gets nerfed. He gave a tentative stock rise to Chun li as he reasoned that she could be in line for a few buffs, and if Capcom ever gets rid of throw loops, she will get even stronger, as her base kit never relied on that to begin with.
He also argued that Juri, Cammy, and Dee Jay will also be really strong in the coming year, and that could mean people might want to either make the switch or stick with them, depending on the situation.
He did mention that he believes Ed and Mai will receive nerfs, which could affect their ranking. His reasoning for Ed is that since the development team seem to take the feedback of the Japanese community very seriously, and they don’t seem to like Ed at the moment, then he could be in line for a cratering.
Of course, all of this is speculative and fans will have to wait until later in the year to see just who will be viable. A new patch would have come out after Capcom Cup 2026, however, based on the timing of the new patch in 2025, it is more likely the patch will come sometime in June.
