He joins one of Korea's biggest orgs
One of South Korea’s premier esports organizations in the fighting game community, DN Freecs, has officially announced the signing of Jinwoo Seo, better known as Armperor. The move comes as a surprise to many, as Armperor had been a member of Spirit Zero since 2024.
In a statement about his transfer, Armperor expressed his gratitude to his former team:
“I’m really grateful to Spirit Zero for the past year. Now I’ve transferred to DN Freecs. DN Freecs, thank you so much for giving me this opportunity — I’ll work hard and show you all my best.”
DN Freecs is widely regarded as one of South Korea’s top fighting game teams. They are owned by SOOP (formerly AfreecaTV). The organization is home to elite players such as ULSAN, who recently won the Esports World Cup, and Mulgold, the Combo Breaker 2025 champion.
Spirit Zero also issued a statement, thanking Armperor for his contributions and wishing him success in his future endeavors.
Their statement read:
Seo Jin-woo @armperor455, who has been with Seongnam Spirit Zero since last year, is heading towards a bigger world. Seongnam Spirit Zero will support you on your future journey! Fighting! Seo Jin-woo!
FAREWELL, ARMPEROR. Wishing you all the best on your next journey.
Armperor will be joining DN Freecs as their first Street Fighter 6 player and first Street Fighter player since Infiltration left in 2021.
