There is often an assumption that people who made the game are also really damn good at it. There is some logic to that, but reality is very often quite different, and you can look at something like League of Legends or Valorant to find a lot of examples. Many Rioters have publically known account, and while some of them are good enough to compete with the best of the best, many are comfortably average like the rest of us.
However, 2XKO seems like it has a few exceptions. At the recent devs vs pros exhibition, the combat designer Yohosie was nearly unbeatable, pushing pro players to the limit. And now we have ApologyMan, who is a known pro player, but also a QA engineer and part of the gameplay analysis team on 2XKO.
Just recently, he managed to hit the number one spot on North American leaderboards with 4025LP, showing that he's not just good at the game, but one of the best.
