Hanamicon 2021

Hanamicon is a yearly anime-related event held in Graz, Styria, Austria. The event is named after Hanami - the traditional Japanese festival of blossoming cherry and includes a number of activities, centered around Japanese popular culture. These include cosplay contests, doujinshi and art fairs, host clubs, maid cafés, and Japanese gaming. The event also offers workshops for creatives, including classes in makeup, wigs, and photography, as well as the creative contest in AMV (anime music videos).

In 2021, Hanamicon held a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament in Ultimate singles and doubles. Going over the span of two days, the event attracted 110 participants, who competed for the prize pool of €750. 

The event was sponsored by Nintendo, as well as by Anigame, AnimeRadio.de, KSM Anime, and others.
