Reina is a newcomer to Tekken 8. She’s a student at the Mishima Polytechnical School, the same one Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, and Miharu Hirano attended. Not much is known about her past, but she seems to be extensively linked to the Mishima family. Her interest in this dysfunctional clan mainly manifests through her desire to fight Jin and Kazuya.
Reina is a Japanese student who’s quite self-assured and even cocky. She has an evil aura around her, and she’s not afraid to challenge even those who are at the top of the proverbial food chain in the Tekken world. Both her attire and her fighting style evoke a sense of duality in her.
Reina is a Mishima, so she has most of the usual traits – a wavedash, a hellsweep, and an electric. In addition to this, she has a lot of stances that she could utilize according to any given situation. She’s not an easy character to learn, and the level of execution required to master her isn’t low either, but she has all the tools to be a fearsome character in the right hands.
Reina’s fighting style in Tekken 8 is based on two distinct arts. One is the Mishima Style Karate, with many of the moves traced directly to the late Heihachi Mishima. But the more interesting part is the moveset based on the offshoot of Karate – a martial art named Taido. It’s much more fluid than the rigid form and movement usual Karate provides and requires, which allows her to approach situations in quite unorthodox ways.
