Biography

Story

In the remote corner of Southeast Asia, there is a small village of people living in tune with nature and worshiping the wind. Talim was born there into a family of shamans and raised as the Last Priestess of the Winds. All while Western civilization was slowly encroaching on their way of life. Over time, people from the west came and went, but one of them brought a peculiar metal shard at one point, the fragment of Soul Edge. He passed it off as a "vitality charm," but the village elders immediately sensed the ominous energy. Talim, in particular, found it familiar, for it was similar to the power that was emitted during the Evil Seed event and nearly killed her.

Wishing to take the piece back where it belongs, Talim asks for permission to leave. Some of the villagers voice their concern as Talim is the last priestess, and going out in the chaotic world could cause her to lose her purity or even life. Her parents support her desire instead, claiming that it could improve her ties to nature and strengthen her abilities. However, when they ask the village elder, she gives no particular answer, and Talim goes back to her training.

The peace doesn't last as the shard suddenly disappears, and various problems arise around the village, from demons kidnapping kids to bandits and vampires. Talim manages to overcome all these challenges and protect the land. Along the way, she begins to realize the reason behind this. The village elder hit the Soul Edge fragment herself and tested Talim with these tasks so that both she and other villages would believe in her strength. Having proven herself, Talim is allowed to go out into the world and deliver the shard of Soul Edge to its rightful place.

Personality

As the Last Priestess of the Winds and a warrior trained in the art of Wind Dance, Talim is naturally calm and composed at all times. No matter what she's up against, Talim never forgets to be kind, courteous, and reassuring. Despite being so young, she carries herself with confidence and puts her trust in the powers of wind.

Playstyle

Befitting a wind-themed character, Talim is a pretty fast and agile character. Her forte lies in the close-range offense. After Talim gets in on her opponent, she has many options to pressure or mixup her opponents with stance mixups and Reversal Edge cancels. Maximizing her potential will require getting a good read on your opponents and establishing momentum, but once Talim gets going, it's extremely rewarding.

Like many other aggressive characters, Talim's main weakness comes from her subpar range. She's not good at stopping sidestepping opponents, but one of the most significant challenges is simply getting into close range. While Talim wants to be next to her opponent, she's still not exactly safe there, as her strings are susceptible to Guard Impact, requiring sharp awareness to avoid getting punished.

Appearance

Talim is a short girl with brown eyes and medium-length black hair tied into ponytails. She wears a white, green, and red outfit consisting of a puffy hat, short blouse, wristbands, crop top, tube bra, shorts with several ribbons hanging off the sides, and tall sandals. She also wears a ring necklace with a wind amulet and ring bracelets on her arms.
