Two-time 2XKO Evo Champion Hikari Leaves M80 After Successful Stint
It is unclear what new game the champion will pivot to

Evo winner for 2XKO, Hikari, has left his team, M80, after a very successful 10 months together. In that time, he won two Evo titles: Vegas and Japan, with the former especially standing out due to it being a loser's bracket run.

M80 released a statement in which they said:

“THANK YOU, HIKARI. What a time it's been. @HikariNYC became the 2XKO EVO champion in Japan, then ran it back in Vegas with a losers bracket comeback through a 1,000+ player field. Two EVO titles in M80 colors.

“Thank you for every win, every hype moment, and every laugh along the way. You'll always have support from us. We can't wait to see what's next for you”

The champion was very gracious in his response, saying:

“Was a great year winning 2 EVOs back to back with @M80gg

“ I'm excited for what the future holds. Wishing the best for M80 and grateful for everything they've done for me”

What's next for Hikari?

It is unknown if this parting of ways is due to the announcement that support for 2XKO will cease by the end of 2026. While the game will not be taken down and will remain available for fans to continue competing in, its esports scene is most likely dead.

Hikari is also a champion in Dragon Ball FighterZ and has dabbled in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, where he made top 16 at CEO 2026. He might return to this game professionally or move to another title.

Which competitive community Hikari will show up in next is currently unclear, but one can be confident that wherever he pops up, he will be a superstar.
