The lineup for Topanga Championship 6’s A League has been officially decided following a rigorous qualifying campaign. The qualifiers featured 18 players divided into two groups. From each group, three players secured direct qualification, while the fourth-place players in each group faced off in a tiebreaker match to determine the seventh and final spot.
The seven players who qualified through this process are: Junior, Akutagawa, Yamaguchi, Torimeshi, Higuchi, Bonchan, and Omaechan. These players join 11 others who received direct invitations based on their performances at Topanga Championship 5, bringing the total to 18 participants.
The players have been divided into two groups: the Black Division and the White Division. The White League has generated considerable buzz as it features four players from the same team, while the remaining five are known character specialists.
Although the Black Division appears more balanced, it still boasts elite competitors such as Ryukichi, Moke, and Higuchi.
The A League will take place from June 17 to June 25, 2025. At the end of the group stage, the top three players from each group will advance to the finals. A final spot will be awarded to the winner of a tiebreaker match between the fourth-place finishers from each group. The finals, scheduled for July, will be held offline and will follow a round-robin format. Matches will be played in a first-to-seven format with deuce rules in effect.
The A League will kick off shortly after CEO 2025, which is the next major stop on the Capcom Pro Tour. Notably, CEO 2025 will be the first major tournament to feature the new Season 3 patch. This update may lead to some interesting character switches in Topanga A League. For example, Moke has mentioned that he may return to Chun-Li over Mai, and with recent buffs to Ryu and nerfs to Akuma, other players might also reconsider their mains.
