Tekken 8 & Street Fighter 6 EWC Tournament Formats Unveiled

The Esport World Cup, Saudi Arabia's bid to become a major figure in esports, has released today the complete rulebooks for the Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 tournaments happening later this year in its capital Riyadh.

The 32 players that make it through the qualifiers events will be placed in eight groups of four players each to play out a double-elimination style bracket, commonly referred to as GSL-style brackets. After, the 16 advancing players will do another round of GSL-style brackets before heading to a final single-elimination top 8 bracket. This 32-player final will happen over the course of three days from August 22nd to the 25th.

The seeding for the first GLS phase will be determined at a later date.
