Tekken 8: No New Character Announcement For TWT 2024

With excitement building towards the Tekken World Tour which is mere days away, Bandai Namco has moved to temper expectations announcing that there would be no new character information during the TWT 2024. 

2024 marks 30 years of Tekken's existence and the game has only grown from strength to strength and there were high expectations as to what to expect from Bandai Namco to celebrate the game. 

The Tekken team were at pains to emphasize in their statement that there are a lot of things planned for the 30th anniversary celebration including a very warm welcome for participants in the TWT, and the 'Excellent TEKKEN Festival' which will feature various Tekken activties. 

They also released the schedule for the TWT with the Global leaderboard group stage going on first where the top two players of the group advance to the last 16 while the other three make it to the last chance qualifier. The second day will feature players from the regional leaderboard where the top two in each of the three groups will make it to top 16, but on the loser's side. The third day will see all the players in the LCQ fight for the remaining two spots in the top 16 before the finals take place on the 8th of December 2024.
