Street Fighter Pros Distressed Over Laggy Setups At Kings Of The World
It made for a somewhat bittersweet experience

Yesterday was all about South Korea's Armperor and his magnificent win at the Kings Of The World Capcom Pro Tour Premiere in London, England.

He defeated Kilzyou to book his place at Capcom Cup 11 and got a shiny trophy for his collection.

However, not everything was smooth sailing as not a few pro players complained about the laggy setups that they had to contend with which led to dropped combos and early exits for some.

EndingWalker, who has had a pretty decent season with notable top 8 finishes including taking 3rd place at Evo 2024, was unusually critical of the setups. In a thread he made on social media, he explained that with the season over, he can be candid about some things with the issue of using Playstation 5s as the console of choice being particularly galling to him.

He wasn't the only one as Evo winner Punk who crashed out in top 16 was also pretty irate with a series of posts in which he criticized the setups.

Capcom Cup finalist, Chris Wong, was also upset with the setups as he stated that while he was confident that Capcom Cup will have great setups, he was concerned at the inconsistency of the setups for many of the premieres he has attended.

It seems pretty clear that many weren't pleased with the use of PS5s with many opining that PCs are a better alternative as there are less likely to be any lags or drops. Punk also mentioned that Samsung monitors aren't too great.

It is hoped that Capcom standardizes setups across board so that the next Capcom Pro Tour would be a better experience.
