The movie which hits theaters in October looks to have a lot of the classic camp that fans hoped for with better execution of visual effects
Street Fighter’s much-anticipated upcoming movie has finally gotten its first trailer. The newest entry into the Street Fighter movie franchise has been through production hell that had many convinced the movie would never see the light of day.
However, fans were pleasantly surprised when it was announced back in 2023 when Street Fighter 6 came out that there was a movie in the works with a director, Kitao Sakurai, finally found for the project.
The trailer gives fans a glimpse of what is to come, and from what was shown the story seems to revolve around the Street Fighter tournament, an international martial arts showdown pulling together all the best fighters in the world. Ken Masters, usually the deuteragonist, seems to be playing a major role here as a down-on-his-luck fighter whose glory days are behind him, looking to redeem himself by winning the Street Fighter tournament.
The trailer showed a lot of the classic moves that fans are familiar with including Ken’s dragon punch, Zangief’s classic Russian suplex and Ryu’s hadoken. There will be a lot more easter eggs for fans to fawn over as they watch repeatedly.
The movie is set to release in theaters in October 2026.
