Street Fighter League Japan Reveals Group Divisions, Calendar
We now have all the information we need going into an exciting season of Street Fighter League Japan

The highly anticipated Street Fighter League Japan will return in August and at the end of the Division Announcement Special Program, we have the rosters, calendar, and the groupings.

There will be two leagues, S and F, with six teams each with three of them qualifying for the playoffsand one winner will emerge.

The two leagues are made up thus:

Division S

  • Good 8 Squad
  • DetonatioN FocusMe
  • Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto
  • NTPOJA
  • Shinobism Gaming
  • Fukishima IBUSHIGIN

Division F

  • VARREL
  • Hiroshima Team iXA
  • Crazy Raccoon
  • Belc FAV Gaming
  • CAG OSAKA
  • Yogibo REJECT

There were also announcements regarding the schedule with the first set of games happening on the 16th of August 2024 and will feature Division S matches. Division F will get underway from the 20th August 2024.

There will be 20 matchdays in the regular season last over the course of four months (between August and November). Each matchday will feature three matches making a total of 60 matches for this season.

The Grand Final will probably take place early 2025 with the World Chapionship taking place during Capcom Cup XI.

The rules are more of less the same with each match featuring a home and away team. The away team is compelled to put out their lineup before the match starts along with the control scheme that will be used. The home team can then counterpick them and fight. The first two games are best-of-3 and worth 10 points. The final match is a best-of-5 and worth 20 points. If there is a stalemate at the end of the match, an extra game is played with the winner taking 5 points.

For the playoffs, the top three teams from each group will qualify. The team thatv finishes top has an advantage and are automatically the home team during their playoff match. The second placed team will need to play a 'semi-final' match against the 3rd placed team who have to start in the away side. The winner of that will play the top placed team and the winner advances to Grand Final.

With so many new teams, and new players, this is shaping up to be the best Street Fighter League Japan season yet.
