There are just a couple of more matchdays to go before the playoffs and teams are scrambling to see who qualifies. These were the games that went forward today:

  • FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN vs Shinobism Gaming
  • Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto vs Nagoya NTPOJA
  • DetonatioN FocusMe vs Good 8 Squad

Game1: FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN (Away) vs Shinobism Gaming (Home)

  • Sasamo (Ed) 2 v Fujimura (Akuma) 0
  • CoSa (Ken) 0 v Momochi (Ed) 2
  • Kakeru (Akuma) 3 v Yamaguchi (Ed) 2

IBUSHIGIN have had a decent debut to Street Fighter League Japan and still had hopes of qualifying for the playoffs. But to do that, they had to get past Shinobism who have been neck and neck with Good 8 Squad. Kakeru was in the anchor spot again after spending the last couple of matchdays in the other spots. He was also the one that finally won it for his team with a great win over Yamaguchi. Kakeru dropped a couple of combos before finally managing to close it out.

Final Scores

FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN (30) vs Shinobism Gaming (10)

Game 2: Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto (Away) vs Nagoya NTPOJA (Home)

  • Fuudo (Ed) 2 v Tachikawa (Ed) 0
  • Nemo (Bison) 2 v Otani (Ken) 0
  • Higuchi (Guile) 3 v Kei.B (Bison) 1

SS Kumamoto needed a big win to really put themselves in contention for a playoff spot and that was exactly what they did. Arguably the most stacked team in their division, SS Kumamoto took no prisoners as they won the match with a clean 40-0 even from the away spot. Daigo sat this one out, but he was barely missed as the talents of Fuudo, Nemo and Higuchi came through. With such a big win, they catapulted themselves to second place with just two matches to go. The big win also was bad news for IBUSHIGIN who would have hoped SSK dropped points so as to be closer to the top.

Final Scores

Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto (40) vs Nagoya NTPOJA (0)

Game 3: DetonatioN FocusMe (Away) vs Good 8 Squad (Home)

  • Nauman (Ken) 1 v Kawano (Akuma) 2
  • John Takeuchi (Rashid) 0 v Pugera (Bison) 2
  • Itabashi Zangief (Zangief) 3 v Gachikun (Rashid) 1
  • Itabashi Zangief (Zangief) 1 v Gachikun (Rashid) 0

G8S were able to get over their really bad last season to come back into true form as they tried to push ahead of the pack. They started really well too with Kawano and Pugera winning their games, but Itazan, fresh from winning East Coast Throwdown was in the anchor spot. Some might have perhaps expected YHC-Mochi to step up since historically, the Zangief-Dhalsim matchup has generally favored the latter. But, team captain Gachikun took responsibility, stepped up, and promptly lost 3-1.

With the scores level, Gachikun tried again, but was once again rebuffed by Itazan.

It was a day for the away teams as they all won their matches and the table is in a really interesting place ahead of the last couple of matches.

Final Scores

DetonatioN FocusMe (25) vs Good 8 Squad (20)
