This could be a gamechanger
Online matches for fighting games can be daunting for the inexperienced as the fear of loss and other factors sometimes keeps people away from playing and getting better at the game.
To combat this, Street Fighter 6 is introducing the V-Rival feature which is supposed to help players play the game more and get better.
The feature will allow players to play against AI-controlled characters that are an amalgamation of various players' styles to make it feel like playing against a regular human being.
The feature will be live from the Terry update, also, players can access it from Battle Hub where they'll meet Li Fen.
Amongst other things, the player can pick any level or rank they want and the AI will scour through player fighting data to creat an AI opponent that is suitable.
Players can pick the character they want to go up against. They can also pick specific characters they want to face. Li Fen will give players personalized feedback to help them get better and improve on their areas of weakness.
Users will also be able to raise their V-Rival rank with each win, and if they can defeat an opponent of a higher rank, they get more points.
Also of importance is the fact that players can review footage of two AI characters based on professional fighters' matches to learn how they fight and what ways in which to deal with them.
This could be a very useful addition, however, there are also fears that it could mean a less people want to engage in ranked matches.
