Skyll wins Guilty Gear -STRIVE- at VSFighting X!
The frenchman claimed a huge victory in the tournament

Oplon Skyll was the winner of the Guilty Gear -STRIVE- tournament at VSFighting X in England over the weekend. Skyll won against Israel's Zando in the final to claim a great victory.

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- is one of the most popular fighting games right now and the amount of talent that was at VSFighting was unbelievable as the very best in the EMEA region (and Punk) were on display at the tournament.

It was notable that Punk made top 8 in this tournament but was beaten by the incredible Mystic Smash and crashed out. Also of note was that Latif, a great player who came into the tournament as a favorite, also failed to go further than the first hurdle in losers as he lost to eventual finalist, Zando

Top 8 for STRIVE at VSFighting X

This win means that Skyll has qualified for the final of the Arc World Tour, which will take place in March next year.

Unlike Tekken's World Tour which is divided into dojo events and master events, Arc System's world tour is a lot more straightforward. The finals will include 8 players who are all winners of 8 different tournaments.

The tournaments listed are:

  • Evo 2022
  • VSFighting X
  • REV Major
  • CEOtaku
  • The MIXUP
  • FIGHTERS SPIRIT
  • ARCREVO Japan 2022
  • Frosty Faustings 2023

So far both UMISHO and Skyll are qualified as the winners of Evo and VSFighting X.

It'll be interesting to see who else is able to join them in the finals next year.
