SF6 and MK1 Made Steam’s Best-Selling Games of 2023 List

Valve has published the list of Best-Selling and Most Played Games of 2023 on Steam, and both Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1 achieved quite high places. Most categories are divided into tiers, as Steam can’t simply reveal the numbers behind the sales.

In the Top Sellers list, which includes “The Year's Top Games measured by Gross Revenue,” Street Fighter 6 was placed in the Silver tier, while Mortal Kombat 1 got into the Bronze one.

In the New Releases category, which includes “The Year's Top New Releases measured by Gross Revenue,” Street Fighter 6 was in the top, Platinum tier, while Mortal Kombat 1 was a tier below, in Gold.

In the Most Played list, which includes “The Year's Most Played Games measured by Peak Concurrent Players,” Street Fighter 6 placed in the Bronze tier of the games that had over 40,000 Peak Players.

Additionally, Street Fighter 6 placed in the Gold tier for the Steam Deck category, which includes “The Year's Most Played Games on Steam Deck measured by Daily Active Players.”

Lastly, Street Fighter 6 was in the Platinum tier for the Controller list, which includes “The Year's Most Played Games measured by Daily Active Controller Players.” Mortal Kombat 1 was the top game in the Gold tier of the same category.

It’ll be interesting to see where Tekken 8 will end up on next year’s Steam results.
