Records Show That JP is The Most Used Character In Top 96 For SF6

JP is one of the new characters introduced in Street Fighter 6, and he acts as the game's villain. He is also a very tricky and technical character to use. If you thought that would dissuade people from using him, you'll need to guess again as he has turned out to be one of the more popular characters among players, especially among higher-level players. 

In some data released, it was discovered that Ken is the most popular Street Fighter 6 character, but, it became clear, that a lot of the top-level players like JP.

This has also been evident at Evo where a lot of JP's have been doing some incredible work so far. So much so that in some released data on Twitter, we saw that JP was the most used character in top 96 at Evo 2023. 

This was thanks to a Twitter user, @NY_Teiga who created a tier list in which he ranked the characters most represented in top 96.  

According to the data, there were 14 JPs in top 96, including SonicFox and Kakeru, the latter who is in top 6 and a real contender for the title. The second most used character was unsurprisingly, Ken Masters, who was used by 13 players. Ryu and Honda were not represented. 

It seems like the game's meta and tier list will change a bit after Evo is over, and you can suspect that JP might be considered top 5 in the game by then.
