NRS Mobile Division Hit With Massive Layoffs
Do you have MK on your phone?

This year has been nothing short of disastrous for the gaming industry. Video game companies continue to announce constant layoffs and closures, often with obfuscated reasoning that paints those actions as necessary and unavoidable.

This newest round of bad news comes from TechRaptor, who did a bit of digging on LinkedIn to find this otherwise unannounced shutdown. First it was Tony Lazzara's post, which says that mobile team was shut down entirely.

Despite the silence from NRS, it seems to align with posts from some of the other employees, and leaves us with a confusing picture. The MK Mobile recently celebrated their 9th anniversary, and was seemingly still going strong with consistent updates. To end the support so abruptly doesn't seem to make much sense, even in the wake of Warner Bros. questionable performance in the gaming sphere.

Whether it's an actual shutdown or another "restructurization" remains to be seen. It would at least make more sense if things are being shuffled around or possibly swapped to another developer, but none of that should overshadow the fact many talented developers are now suddenly left without a job.
