NRS Announce $200k Final Kombat Event

The official NetherRebalm X account announced the date and prize pool for the Final Kombat competition which is a culmination of all the Pro Komp tournaments taking place in Mortal Kombat 1.

The announcement stated that the tournament will take place between the 14th and 16th of June in Toronto, Canada. What excited fans the most was a much improved prize pool of $200,000. 

The split is currently unknown, but this is a vast improvement from the $100,000 prize pool initially set aside for Final Kombat. 

Final Kombat will feature 20 players with 19 of them coming from the global leaderboard and the final participant being decided through a Last Chance Qualifier. The players will be split into groups and finally there would be a top 8 bracket from which a winner will emerge. 

There have already been speculation about what could be announced there including the addition of Homelander and maybe even an announcement regarding the next Kombat pack. 

Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Game Store)
