The Red Bull Kumite event for 2024 is coming in March and we are beginning to get a glimpse of who and who will be available to play in the tournament. Traditionally, RBK has featured 15 invited players and 1 player who qualifies from the Last Chance Qualifiers.
Last year, Kakeru was the winner of the LCQ and it was then he first started to emerge as the Street Fighter 6 titan he is recognized as today.
However, a change has been made and there are only 14 invited players this year with the two slots being taken by the winner of the LCQ and the winner of a new segment they are adding called the 'Play-in tournament.'
This tournament will feature 8 players with one of them making it to the main Red Bull Kumite. There are 4 slots given to the United States with the other 4 slots going to Italy, Canada, Japan, and France.
The first two qualification tournaments have already happened with NoahTheProdigy and Shine taking the wins and are now in the play-in tournament. NoahTheProdigy defeated Nephew to take the win while Shine won Brian_F in Grand Final after resetting the bracket.
