Nintendo 3DS and Wii U were popular gaming consoles in the 2010s, with more than 75 and 13 million units sold, respectively. You could play many games, including, of course, Super Smash Bros., the fourth instalment in the beloved franchise.
However, soon, online services for these two consoles will be shut down. Nintendo announced that almost all online features will stop working in April 2024. It includes internet rankings and online cooperative play.
It will still be possible to play games offline or re-download purchased games, although their functionality will be cut. The exact time when Nintendo will shut down online services for 3DS and Wii U will be announced later.
