New Details Revealed About the Upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 Movie

The recent Entertainment Weekly article has revealed some early peeks at the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 movie.

Despite the fairly poor reception from both fans and movie critics, the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie managed to surpass expectation in a major way, and it seems like the sequel aims to reflect that.

Much of the early info is focused on Karl Urban joining the movie's cast as Johnny Cage. Even though he's arguably not much of a dead ringer for Johnny, anyone who is familiar with his work, will likely attest to Karl being a perfect fit for any character that is meant to be both outspoken and charismatic, especially when said character is just a pinch of a scumbag.

Outside of that, they also shared a handful of screencaps that show off the characters you'll see in the movie. Including Shao Kahn, Kitana, Jax, Sonya, Liu Kang, Scorpion, and, of course, Johnny Cage. Although a few others are already known to be in the movie, like Queen Sindel, Sub-Zero, and Jade.

It definitely seems like they are trying to please the fans once again, but much of it will likely depend on the takeaways from the first movie.
