MultiVersus: Open Beta Character Tier List
See which characters are likely to make an appearance at Evo 2022 ahead of the start of the event!

Coming into the Evo 2022 weekend, the talk of the town is on MultiVersus and its 17 available characters. The game recently went into Open Beta, and a large chunk of platform fighter players have spent a solid amount of time getting to grips with the title as it features a $100k tournament.

Given the sizeable roster and the variety of players competing, the current tier List for characters is hard to pinpoint. Furthermore, its 1v1 and 2v2 modes are completely different beasts when it comes to which characters are better.

Thus, we've decided to hone down on singles, as besides Evo 2022, those are likely to be the most common competition at this time. Also worth noting that our Tier List weights skill floors more than ceilings since the vast majority of players will not be part of the 1% of players at all times. With that said, as always, Tier lists are not definitive, and playing a character well will always trump playing a character badly, even if they are a tier or two above.

S-Tier

These characters are considered to be easy to learn and hard to master but with a clear learning curve that invites players to perfect their combos.

  • Finn
  • Harley Quinn
  • Bugs Bunny
  • Batman

A-Tier

High-end potential defines these characters. With enough time and patience, a lot can be extracted from their kits.

  • Shaggy
  • Jake
  • Tom & Jerry
  • Arya Stark

B-Tier

Solid pickups that you can reliably play with and not feel at a disadvantage for the majority of matchups, though some will be noticeably harder simply down to the mechanics of the characters.

  • Superman
  • Taz
  • LeBron James
  • Garnet
  • Velma
  • Wonder Woman

C-Tier

You will face harder matchups than most with these characters, but that also leaves the door open for the element of surprise. Worth noting, once again, that these are for 1v1, in 2v2n, these characters are almost completely different beasts.

  • Iron Giant
  • Reindog
  • Steven Universe
