Warner Bros. Shuts Down Several Studios, Including Player First Games
Company seeks to focus on other key franchises in an attempt to make the green line go up.

The long and depressing line of gaming industry closures and layoffs continues to grow. This time thanks to solid efforts from Warner Brothers.

Jason Schreier has just broke the news about WB closing down three of its studios. Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and WB San Diego.

In their official statement, Warner Brothers expressed the usual hollow grief of how difficult it was for them to make this decision, and how it does not reflect the quality of the talent working at those studios. And indeed, if one is familiar with even a fraction of Monolith's catalogue, it becomes clear that this decision only reflects the exceptionally low quality of Warner Bros. upper management.

While the Wonder Woman game is cancelled, Warner Brothers promises that this is all in service of comitting to their other franchises. Namely Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC, and Game of Thrones.

It's not clear what exactly they are planning with any of these franchises, who will be developing their future titles, or what format these projects will adapt.
