Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Launches Without Lobby Support
Private and public lobbies are planned to be added some time in the future.

Slightly ahead of release, Digital Eclipse made an announcement regarding what type of online content you can expect in the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. As expected, there is an option for quick match, and it even includes some settings to tailor the experience, however, there is one big caveat.

Public and private lobbies, a staple of pretty much any fighting game for the last two decades, will not be in the game at launch. This is a massive oversight, and somehow not something that Digital Eclipse communicated prior to release.

In fact, it's quite the opposite, with the Gamesom trailer suggesting that people will be able to play together. As vague as this wording is, we all know how "play together" would be interpreted by people who would see this trailer.

It's very unlikely that the developers at Digital Eclipse thought that this is an acceptable state for the final release, so it would likely be unfair to put the blame on them. Issues like this often stem from poor management and developers not getting enough time to do what needs to be done before the game is forced to hit the shelves.

This also be far from the only oversight in this release, so there's bound to be more news in the coming days.
