Mortal Kombat 2 Movie Gets Release Date

Following from its small success in 2021, there will be another Mortal Kombat movie with Warner Bros announcing that the sequel will hit theatres in late 2025. 

The first movie grossed $84 million against its $55 million budget which some might consider a disappointment and is a much smaller number than the $122 million that the very first Mortal Kombat movie made with a comparatively smaller budget. 

The movie is set to star The Boys actor, Karl Urban in the role of Johnny Cage who did not appear in the first movie. Lewis Tan will reprise his role as Cole Young and while the plot of the movie is unknown, it is believed it will pick up where the last one left off. 

 Simon McQuoid will return as director and is written by Jeremy Slater of Moon Knight fame. 

The film will release on October 24, 2025.
