Mortal Kombat 1: Rain Breakdown
A new role, a new weapon, and new moves

The release of Mortal Kombat 1 is right around the corner. The excitement is in the air, and we at DashFight can’t wait to jump into the reset timeline and re-imagined fights.

One of the significantly changed characters in the MK1 roster is Rain, who switches his role of a ninja to the noble position of a High Mage. Naturally, this adjustment in the story affects the actual moveset.

A detailed breakdown of Rain’s gameplay features was published on the official MK YouTube channel. It’s an exception from the earlier stream, Kombat Kast 3.

Rain in Mortal Kombat 1 | Gameplay Breakdown

The developers show Rain’s normals, such as Standing 4. It’s a powerful attack that kicks an opponent across the world — they appear on the other side. This can be a combo tool.

Among Specials, Rain has an impressive zoning tool — a water projectile. His protective water bubble may boost your defense game. Water portals allow the character to teleport around the stage. Some of Rain’s Specials make his mixups very dangerous.

The breakdown gives interesting examples of using Kameo Fighters with Rain, on the example of Stryker.

Despite all the changes, the developers promise that he will still be familiar to the fans, like all the other returning characters in MK1.

Would you main Rain in Mortal Kombat 1?

We’ve also got the official MK1 release trailer. It sure confirms how awesome this game is going to be.
