Omni-Man is the newest addition to the MK1 roster. The strongest member of the alien Viltrumite race, he flew into the MK universe straight from the Invincible comic and animated series. He’s a really new character, so we thought you’d appreciate a guide on how to play him. And our teacher today is none other than J Gleez. Enjoy the guide!

Specials

  • BF1: quite unsafe at -15 on block, but gets an almost fullscreen range when amped. 

  • BF2: fast advancing mid that gains armor on amp. His wakeup move.

  • BF3: Omni-Man's stance that allows hi to sidestep projectiles. Amped version also ignores attacks, but is vulnerable to lows and jump ins.

    • BF3,1: a launch option, allows you to extend or start combos.

    • BF3,2: a great and fast projectile punish tool, but is quite unsafe on its own.

    • BF3.3: a great overhead, but full-combo punishable on upblock.

    • BF3,4: another great option to punish projectiles, also a launcher.

    • F+Block: a teleport to get you out of some sticky situations.

  • BF4: a great fast attack that’s even better when used in the air: it’s an overhead and a launcher.

Strings and Buttons:

  • 1,2,2: great string, 0 on block, second his is a +3.

  • 2,2,2: second his is an overhead, but the third one can be flawless blocked and punished.

  • F4,1: your main whiff-punishers and launchers.

  • B1,1: another launcher, but keep in mind that the second hit is a high and can be crouched.

  • B1,2: a good option against those who’s upblocking the previous string.

  • D3 and D4: okay down pokes, lack some range.

  • D1: a pretty standard D1.

  • B4: an unusually damaging sweep. However, it’s -7 on block and has pushback.

  • F2: a really high overhead.

  • F3: an easily cancellable move that can go into a combo.

Best Kameos for Omni-Man

Conclusion

The best thing about Omni-Man is is Omni-Presence on screen. He can be anywhere at any time on the battlefield and is a general menace to deal with, especially with a Kung Lao kameo. Keep in mind that his usual options don’t have the best range, so do try to play to his strengths rather than trying to shore up his weaknesses.
