The recently launched Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 has faced criticism over technical issues and visual downgrades compared to other platforms. But the developers are listening to fan complaints and promise to fix the problematic port.
Players have posted comparisons online showing the visual downgrade on Switch. The port was handled by Shiver Entertainment and Saber Interactive rather than the leading developer, NetherRealm. Despite costing the same as the more powerful PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, the Switch port has noticeably lower fidelity.
Series creator Ed Boon acknowledged the concerns in an interview with BBC Newsbeat, promising the issues will be addressed. Boon stated that the team aimed to deliver the ideal Switch version at launch. However, he committed to supporting the port from now on, just like they did with Mortal Kombat 11.
Boon reassured Switch buyers that the game will receive updates to fix unacceptable problems. He affirmed the developers' commitment to improving the experience for Nintendo fans of the acclaimed fighting franchise.
