MenaRD Withdraws From CPT NA East

The current format of Capcom Pro Tour can't be considered perfect. Considering there are not many chances for players to qualify for the Capcom Cup X and the big prize pool of the world championship, some players have to make difficult decisions. Saul Leonardo "MenaRD" Mena II could participate in CPT 2023 North America East Online Event and compete for a $5,000 prize pool, but since he qualified for the Capcom Cup X, he decided to step away and let others decide who will go there together with him.

MenaRD is arguably the player who knows the most about the flaws of the current Street Fighter 6 tournament circuit. He twice played in the grand finals of the offline premier events, but both times fell short. So he experienced what it takes to get into one of if not the, most important tournaments of your life and what stress it brings.

It is a brave decision, even though MenaRD sacrificed some of the prize money as well as tournament experience. The winner of the CPT 2023 NA East will move on to the Capcom Cup X. A tournament with a $1,734,000 prize pool will occur next February in Los Angeles.
