MenaRD Talks Success And Gaming's Growing Legitimacy

MenaRD has spoken about the growing legitimacy of gaming in his home country of the Dominican Republic and how it is changing the lives of the people who are there. 

The Dominican Republic didn't always have a huge gaming presence, but after his incredible Capcom Cup win in 2017, the country was suddently on the map and since then other players like Caba, and Jimmy_DR have emerged as impressive talents from the country. 

Sitting down with Jake Lucky, Mena was asked about how gaming is perceived in his country and he narrated how it has gotten so much better because there is more exposure for DR players and since the American Dollar is pretty heavy within the Dominican Republic, winning a prize of $250,000 is life changing. 

All eyes will be on fighting games again as the Esports World Cup for Street Fighter 6 is about to kick off with Tekken 8 following suit a couple of weeks later.
