MenaRD, fresh from leading Bandits to a dominant first place finish in the first half of Street Fighter League US, has decided he is not slowing down anytime soon. Instead of taking a victory lap, he wants to level up even further to lock in the top spot for his team.
The two-time Evo champion who won both Evo Vegas and Evo Japan has guided Bandits to an unbeaten start in SFL US. They currently sit comfortably at the top of the table with 190 points. Mena has won all his matches except one against NL, and even then Bandits still clutched the overall win. Right now the team looks unstoppable, and rather than take a break, Mena is doubling down. In a social media post, he announced that he will be returning to Japan to continue training so he can come back even stronger for the rest of the league and prepare for next year's Capcom Cup.
He said, “I still feel like my training isn’t over yet, so I’ve decided to return to Japan, thinking that I need to become even stronger to win at SFL.
Until I can truly feel that I’ve become strong enough, I won’t board a flight to California.
Everyone, please keep cheering me on so I can fight again!”
His last trip to Japan with his team saw him win every match he played, and if this new training run goes anything like the last one, it is hard to imagine anyone stopping him from taking both SFL and Capcom Cup.
