Luke's VA Reveals Back Story Behind Character's Iconic Win Quote
The voice actor had to fight hard for the line to be inserted and now it's FGC gold

When Luke wins a round in Street Fighter 6, one of the lines of dialogue he trots out is 'Whoooo! Let's Go!' This line is great as it fits perfectly with Luke's persona as an excitable young fighter who is in tune with modern trends.

What we have now learned is that this would not have been the case if the original script had been followed.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Aleks Le, who plays the English voice actor for Luke, explained how the line got added into the game claiming that he had to fight really hard to have it inserted into the final product.

In the video which also featured Marisa's English actress, Allegra Clark, he played some Street Fighter 6 and explained how the 'Let's go!' line got added. According to Le, the original line should have read, "Yes! I won!" But on hearing it, Le felt it was too generic. He explained that prior to playing the role of Luke, he had watched a lot of fighting game tournaments and a lot of FGC content creators and noticed that the phrase "Let's go!" was used quite a bit and was usually associated with hype and excitement.

He asked to try out the line and his director was unsure. But eventually Le prevailed and got to try the line. It sounded good and now it is in the game.

Aleks Le has been putting up more fighting game related videos in recent times which is great as his considerable fanbase now have a reason to be interested in Street Fighter 6. Le has voiced some huge roles including Zenitsu in Demon Slayer, and Caiman in Dorohedoro
