Join me in the brief look over what we've done in October, and read some of my thoughs on this year's games
Hi there. My name is Elizbar “Lightfellow” Ramazashvili, I’m an Editor-in-Chief at DashFight. This is our third letter, a monthly rubric where I casually talk about our achievements, news, and various FGC topics.
In November, things calmed down, relatively speaking, from the absolute storm that was Summer and the start of Autumn. We continued our Mortal Kombat publications, collaborating more on various guides with different players. We even launched the Spanish language guides with subtitles with the phenomenal Chilean twins Scorpionprocs and Nicolas.
Last month, we saw the last Tekken 8 newcomers being revealed: Victor Chevalier and Reina. I myself wrote a video discussing them:
Which I followed up with a topic that’s been on my mind for quite some time: Tekken doesn’t do its female cast justice:
One major and important thing that happened during the month of November is our relaunched “Now You See Me” project. Our CEO, Darina Briukhovetska, set out on a task to interview some of the awesome women in our spaces, talking about their stories, experiences, and hardships. We published two interviews and more are coming, so stay tuned!
Last month, we had a “new” game release, which we wrote a review for: KoF XIII Global Match. I wrote all my proper thoughts in the review itself, which you can read here, but I’d like to reiterate my main point: it’s a decent game that probably should have been more popular on release ten years ago. And even now, had this been released on Steam, I’m completely sure it could have gathered a much bigger audience. Was this the issue of not wanting to release an update to an existing Steam version, or is this a problem of a completely different kind? We’ll probably never know, but as it is, the King of Fighters XIII Global Match is a fumbled attempt to give another life to a semi-forgotten game and a wasted opportunity to transform this ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.
Fighting games aren’t done with releasing games this year: Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is a thing, and it’s coming out next week! We are making final preparations before we launch it as a discipline on our website, and we’re even preparing a review! So stay tuned!
And the final thing I’d like to add is that we launched our annual DashFight Awards campaign, and we’re revealing new categories every day. Follow us on X and this website to never miss the FGC glory!
