Kevin Afghani is the New Voice of Mario

This August, Charles Martinet, an actor who voiced Mario for over 25 years, has stepped down from the role and assumed an ambassadorial position for the iconic character. After deliberating for a couple of months, Nintendo has announced that a relatively unknown voice actor, Kevin Afghani, will be the new voice of everyone’s favorite plumber.

His first project as Mario will be the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder. We assume this means that Kevin Afghani will also voice Mario in any of the future Super Smash Bros. games, should they ever happen.
