E. Honda is the latest Street Fighter legend to receive a statue in the Japanese city of Kashihara, located in Nara Prefecture.
The installation follows earlier statues of Ryu, Chun-Li, and Ken, all part of the city’s ongoing initiative to boost tourism and celebrate its connection to Capcom. Kashihara is the hometown of Kenzo Tsujimoto, the company’s founder, making it a fitting stage for immortalizing some of Capcom’s most iconic characters.
The new bronze statue depicts Honda in a poised, forward-driving stance reminiscent of his famous Hundred Hand Slap, his left knee braced ahead and his right leg set firmly behind him for balance. Standing 1.6 meters tall, including its pedestal, the statue now greets commuters and visitors at the central exit plaza of Kintetsu Kashihara-Jingumae Station.
Honda first appeared in Street Fighter II, the franchise’s most influential and enduring entry. That game introduced the world to the “World Warriors,” a lineup that has carried Street Fighter’s cultural momentum across decades.
Kashihara’s partnership with Capcom began in 2022, granting the city the rights to feature Street Fighter characters throughout public spaces. The first statue, of Ryu, was unveiled in 2023, and the roster has expanded steadily ever since.
