Riot Games, the makers of the upcoming 2XKO game (formerly Project L) released a video in which several Japanese fighting game legends were asked about their experience with the upcoming game.
The playtest for 2XKO featured a lot of Japanese Street Fighter players including Daigo, Nemo, Fuudo, and Sako, all of whom gave their thoughts on the game. In the video, Daigo praised the various mechanics of the game and how he felt that every character available so far has been fun to play. Some of the other comments included praise for the movement, speed, and combo variety included in the game.
2XKO looks to be released next year and it has largely been mooted as the game to really bring fighting games into the mainstream mostly through the esports side which many speculate will be lucrative. It is also interesting to consider whether players will abandon the games they currently focus on to try out 2XKO and whether the financial side will be lucrative enough to abide by that decision.
