A peek at what Riot Games has been working behind doors

The development team behind 2XKO (previously Project L) shared a detailed update on gameplay changes, new mechanics, and the re-introduction of Jinx in her new style and gameplay.

The team also ntoed they had refined the controls to improve consistency and reduce input overlap. Key changes include:

  • Launchers & Anti-Airs merged into a single input (Down + Heavy).
  • Overheads moved from Forward + Medium to Down-Forward + Medium to prevent accidental activations.
  • Team Button Simplification: Pressing Team alone calls assists (no longer requiring Forward + Team). Tag Launcher is now Down + Team for consistency.
  • Super Inputs simplified—Supers now activate with Special + Any Normal (removing the awkward double-tap input). Ultimates now cost 3 bars for greater impact.

The team prioritized launch readiness over a large-scale test, opting for a smaller Alpha Lab 2, this coming April 18 to the 20th. With a larger planned test later, closer to the game's release.
