The new R-Code exploit allows hackers to mess with players in unexpected ways
Towards the end of December 2022, Guilty Gear -Strive- players have noticed a suspicious amount of issues popping up specifically during streams, which turned out to be another R-Code exploit. This happened with Strive in the past, with hackers crashing streamers and ruining tournaments through the R-Code exploit, which also allowed hackers to change the player's name.
That exploit has since been fixed, but it seems like hackers found a new method, which is currently plaguing streamers and the competitive community.
Similarly to before, the hackers can crash the game entirely, ruin the performance, or post chat messages from another player's account. Many known Strive content creators and competitors have already been affected by this, and since hackers can follow their account in game, they can still get attacked even when not streaming.
As a regular player, you don't have too much to worry about, however. ASW producer Zack (Shini) has also been actively monitoring this situation and gathering reports that could lead to identifying the problem and finding the solution as quickly as possible.
