Evo Japan 2024: Street Fighter 6 Has Over 3000 Entrants

Following the announcement that registration and ticket sales for Evo Japan has been extended by one week, it has also been revealed how many people have registered for the major games being featured. 

Evo Japan seeks to be even bigger this year and it seems many have shown interest in competing in the event. Street Fighter 6 remains the most popular fighting game within the community with over 3000 registrants followed by Tekken 8 with 853. 

The numbers were posted by an X (formerly Twitter) account @Wissem_Amzert, and it showed that Street Fighter 6 is the only game with over a thousand entrants. Street Fighter 6 has been on a roll in Japan with several events that have targeted both hardcore and casual fans and this has seen the number of players interested in the game skyrocket. This is a good development as it shows that Street Fighter 6 is still popular beyond its first couple of months. 

Recall that over 7000 players registered for the game at Evo and considering that Evo Japan is much smaller in scale, it is quite impressive that as many as over 3000 have registered their intent to compete. 

Evo Japan will hold between the 27th and 29th of April 2024.
