E1 Part Ways With NotPedro
The Ken specialist is now a free agent, but his Capcom Cup debut and consistent performances make him one worth watching

One of the shining lights of the Brazilian FGC, NotPedro, has been let go by his team, E1.

NotPedro has been competing since Street Fighter V, but came to real prominence in Street Fighter 6 following a string of strong performances, including a Capcom Cup debut earlier this year that endeared him to fans around the world. A dedicated Ken main in a meta that has not been kind to the character, he has built his reputation on specialist knowledge and consistency rather than riding the tier list.

E1 released a statement making clear that NotPedro's departure is not related to any dip in performance, but rather a broader strategic and financial decision reflecting the difficulties facing the Brazilian competitive scene.

They said:

"Today we bid a fond, official farewell to @NotPedro3, closing a chapter filled with immense joy and achievements under the banner of the blue flame. With E1, Pedro claimed regional and national championships and conquered continents with the power of his youth.

"We emphasize that his departure is not related to the athlete's performance. The decision is part of a strategic and financial evaluation in light of the current challenges in the Brazilian FGC competitive scene, which is still seeking a more sustainable model for athletes, organizations, and long-term investments.

"We thank Pedro for all his dedication, partnership, and everything he built with us, etching his name into a piece of our history.

"We wish him every success in his next steps."

NotPedro responded with a post of his own thanking E1 for everything they did for him. In a follow-up, he was clear that despite the disappointment of the news, he is doing well and still fully intends to attend Evo Las Vegas this year.

He has yet to qualify for the Esports World Cup or Capcom Cup, and narrowly missed out on a top 8 finish at the first World Warrior tournament in Brazil. The season, however, is still young. With his Capcom Cup experience, his specialist knowledge of Ken, and a proven ability to perform on the biggest stages, any team looking for a reliable competitor in the Brazilian region would do well to consider him.
