Dominican Republic Win GEG2023 Tournament For Street Fighter 6
The first Street Fighter 6 champion for the Global Esports Games 2023

The Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games (#GEG23) is currently ongoing in Saudi Arabia. The event was announced earlier this year as a multi-game tournament where the players will get to represent their countries. Back in October it was announced that there will be four games on display including DOTA 2, eFootball 2023, PUBG Mobile, and Street Fighter 6.

Street Fighter 6 had 32 participants from all over the world as each participant represented their country. The 32 teams were divided into four groups with eight teams each. Two teams qualify and then they play in a bracket format till the end.

The winner of the tournament was the Dominican Republic represented by Bryan-D against Malaysia's IamChuan. Bryan-D is one of the best talents representing the DR and was almost in Capcom Cup only losing in Grand Final to Caba and his Guile is certainly going to do a lot in Street Fighter 6.

The top 8 went as follows:

  • 1. Bryan-D
  • 2. IamChuan
  • 3. FlawlessDeku
  • 4. Wess
  • 5. LordGQ8
  • 5. GamerBee
  • 7. Myrken
  • 7. Evilcraa

It's a great win for Bryan-D who hasn't always had the chance to travel and it has again solidified the Dominican Republic as one of the strongest nations for fighting games.
