Capcom Release Schedule For Capcom Pro Tour, Online Finals Scrapped
The new Capcom Pro Tour schedule is out with some interesting changes

The Capcom Pro Tour season is about to begin. Capcom have released the schedule for the pro tour series with a couple of changes that will affect how things go moving forward.

The biggest change is the fact that there will no longer be online premiers for regions and these have been replaced by the World Warrior program which has now divided areas into Regions and 'Super Regions'

There will still be 48 players involved in Capcom Cup 11 with 10 coming from offline premiers and the remaining 38 coming from the World Warrior series. Each Super Region will have two representatives, while each Region will have just one. Also the offline premiers will be divided into regular premiers and two super premiers. As with the regions, the winner of a premier will book a place in the cup while the grand finalists of the super premiers will qualify.

Also, it seems there will be no LCQ for Capcom Cup 11.

There are 14 Super Regions including Japan, USA/Canada, Brazil, UK/Ireland, Middle East and most of Europe. The regular regions include South Africa, Central America, Mexico, South Korea and so on.

The new system is great as it means there will be more representation for regions such as Japan which is a super region and will also have one of the super premiers held in the country and the second super premier is close by in Singapore which means there will be a large contigent of Japanese players who will look to win.

Unfortunately, there are still a few wrinkles that have fans unhappy including the continued exclusion of regions like North and West Africa, and some have also pointed to the prize split as being incredibly one-sided as the winner of Capcom Cup 11 will win $1,000,000 while second place takes $100,000 which is a steep drop.

Capcom Pro Tour will commence in July with some of the World Warrior tournaments taking place then while the first major offline event will be Evo which takes place in August 2024.
