It was a great way to announce himself
Frosty Faustings took place over the weekend, delivering a packed slate of high-level competition across multiple fighting games, including Street Fighter 6. Several of North America’s top players were in attendance, alongside Japanese stars such as GO1 and Nemo, who also competed in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
When the dust settled, however, it was Bloo standing at the top of the Street Fighter 6 bracket.
Bloo defeated Caba, the reigning Street Fighter League US champion, to secure his first-ever major tournament win. While Frosty Faustings is categorized as a Tier 2 event, the strength of the Top 8 made this a significant achievement. The bracket featured heavy hitters such as Punk, Dual Kevin, Riddles, and NoahTheProdigy, meaning anyone who emerged victorious was clearly operating at an elite level.
A relative newcomer, Bloo has been competing since 2024 and made his name through consistent high placements in World Warrior NA East, one of the most competitive regional circuits in the world. His rise has been steady, and Frosty Faustings marked the biggest breakthrough of his young career.
Bloo also had history with the event, having finished 3rd place at Frosty Faustings last year. This time, using Dee Jay, he carved through a tough bracket that included wins over Koji KOG and Enzo the Hokage. In Top 8, he defeated Dual Kevin before taking down Caba twice to secure the championship and his maiden major title.
Another standout performer was Stealth. Unlike Bloo, Stealth is a long-time veteran who began competing as far back as 2016. Known as a strong multi-game competitor, he has especially notable results in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, where he has frequently found success at Frosty Faustings. His 3rd place finish in Street Fighter 6 was a reminder that he remains a serious threat, and one who may draw more attention going forward.
Following the win, Bloo took to social media to thank fans and fellow players for their support. Caba, despite falling short, framed the loss positively, calling the event valuable preparation ahead of Capcom Cup, which takes place in just over a month.
Punk, who is also preparing for Capcom Cup, finished in Top 8. He used Frosty Faustings primarily as a testing ground for his Ryu, only switching to Cammy during his set against Riddles, signaling continued experimentation ahead of the season’s biggest event.
All things considered, the 18th edition of Frosty Faustings was a resounding success and served as a strong opening chapter for competitive fighting games in 2026.
