Bandai Namco Shows Off Fahkumram Gameplay, Teases Armor King DLC
Always look on the bright side of trailers.

The newest Combo Breaker has resulted in a bit of new info for Tekken 8, specifically the Fahkrumram gameplay trailer.

The character was previously teased at the recent Evo Japan 2025 event, and to say it wasn't received with much enthusiasm would be a massive understatement.

While much of it is undeniably attributed to the build up of resentment following one of the worst patches in Tekken history, Fahkrumram himself is just not a character that players have been too fond of. Bruce Irvin has been one of the less popular yet still beloved legacy characters, and yet he is kept out of the roster, while brand new Muay Thai characters take his place.

However, much like Luke was an obvious guest character from the yet-to-be-released Street Fighter sequel, a number of oddities and unique mechanics always pointed towards Fahkrumram potentially being a Tekken 8 characters that got thrown into Tekken 7.

The new trailer shows off some of his new attacks, like the Tekken 3 Ogre style power stance that repels attacks, as well as the powered up Heat state, which make sense of his glowing lightning scars. It appears that he's also not missing out on Tekken 8's trend of giving characters some sort of power up or stock mechanic, since some of his signature attacks and feints now come with a special visual and sound effect, which is typically associated with character specific mechanics.

With his identity being far more fleshed out, perhaps people will start warming up to the character, but that remains to be seen.

The good part here is that Bandai Namco deployed an emergency reveal of a fan favorite character – Armor King. We only get to see his intro of jumping into the ring, but just knowing that he's in the game is enough.

In terms of design, we can only tell that his new outfit is heavily based on his classic armor design that first appeared in the original Tekken and was refined over the course of the series. As is usually the case with Tekken 8 designs, it's much busier and detailed, however. Lots of chains, studs, fur, spikes, and straps all around.
