2XKO Season 0 Patch Notes Are Out
Quite a lot of nerfs, but also a lot of new content to play around with.

Today 2XKO makes the switch from its invite only beta to the Early Access, effectively marking the games true release. For those who haven't yet played it, the more specific changes won't mean much, but you get access to a more fleshed out version of the game and new content.

Early Access will have 11 characters (up from 9), two new stages, frame data bar, combo trials, and of course, the store. They ever prepared a prefty nifty graphic that quickly summarizes the additions and balance changes.

For those curious about monetization, the system appears to be similar to other Riot titles. You can acquire all characters for free, but there are some caveats. Your options for getting new characters include:

  • 1 Champion Token (a few will be given to you for completing the tutorial and new player missions).
  • 10,000 credits, which are 2XKO's F2P currency. There is also a 3 week period when new champions can't be bought with credits.
  • 1,000 KO Points, which are the premium currency.
  • Ultra Battle Pass.
  • Recruitment Event - a sort of free Battle Pass that will launch with new champions and allow you to get them for free before the 3 week period is up.

Moving on to more significant changes, Season 0 comes with some major adjustments to game systems. For starters, ranked matchmaking should do a better job of putting you up against people of similar skill, and your placements should be more accurate. However, you will need to wait in que a bit more to make this possible.

You will also find a plethora of balance adjustments that you should check out on the official website. However, when it comes to overall direction of the changes, it seems like Riot is intent on maintaining a healthy balance between risk and reward, while also making the game feel more dynamic by enabling air attacks after blocking, and making assists available more often.
