Riot’s tag-fighter enters full launch phase October 7, with new content and community support on tap
Two weeks into its Closed Beta, Riot Games reports that initial feedback on 2XKO has been amazing. Players are embracing new champions like Vi and Blitzcrank, and a number of grassroots tournaments have already taken place. During this phase, Riot has stress-tested matchmaking, addressed bugs, and monitored server stability to prepare for a wider launch. The Closed Beta ends on October 7, marking the start of Early Access. On the same day, 2XKO will launch its complete “Season 0” build, featuring new elements such as combo trials and an additional champion, increasing the roster to ten. From then onward, all unlocks, skins, champions, mastery rewards, will be permanent, with no more resets of content.
During the Early Access phase, Riot will enhance the Battle Pass, Ranked mode, and make balance adjustments based on player feedback. In addition to in-game features, Riot is launching a competitive program called First Impact to support community organizers. Throughout 2025, they plan to host 22 tournaments, both online and offline, with prize-pool bonuses and a special “Duo Bounty.” Duo winners can earn an extra $2,500, emphasizing the game’s tag-team aspect. The first First Impact event is set for Evo France from October 10 to 12. As 2XKO moves from beta to broader Early Access, the coming weeks will be critical. The game’s performance and Riot’s support will shape player perceptions of this new phase.
