2XKO Closed Beta Begins September 9 with New Content
Riot Games' fighting title enters its next testing phase on PC, introducing Blitzcrank, Vi, Ranked mode, and significant gameplay changes.

Riot Games is set to launch the Closed Beta for its upcoming team-based fighting game, 2XKO, on September 9, 2025. This phase represents a major step up in testing, available only on PC, and brings new champions, gameplay tweaks, and several system updates based on player feedback from the past.

The beta will include two new playable champions: Blitzcrank, the Great Steam Golem, and Vi, the Piltover Enforcer. They join the existing lineup of Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, and Yasuo. Players can unlock Jinx, Blitzcrank, and Vi using in-game currency.

Substantial gameplay changes address pacing and balance, including adjustments to Super and Break meters, defensive tools like pushblock and backdashing, and throw mechanics. The updates aim to make gameplay faster and more engaging with better offensive and defensive options. New features include Champion Mastery rewards, match replays, offline modes for events, and a Ranked mode launching September 18. Player progress resets after the beta, but participants get an exclusive "Challenger" title at launch. Riot will invite more players during the beta, and previous PC Alpha testers will have automatic access.
