Ushiwakamaru

Story

This girl is a successful military general. In the game Melty Blood: Type Lumina, we have her at a younger age. Her glorious feats and also her tragic fate are still ahead — in a different dimension.

Ushiwakamaru, or just Ushi, did not know the caring love of her parents. The girl was raised in the Kurama Temple, surrounded by a rather cold atmosphere. Then, she met Kiichi Hougen, who became her master. He taught her everything, paying special attention to the sword fights and the art of war.

Ushi was a greatly talented student. And as a person, she was charismatic. People liked her. Soldiers were ready to be led by her to war (and death). Ushiwakamaru fairly earned her glory. But that did not bring her happiness.

Ushiwakamaru doesn’t really understand the depth of relations between people. She struggles to feel social games. Ushi fell victim to her own brother — or rather his wife and her political intrigues. 

But Ritsuka Fujimaru has summoned younger Ushiwakamaru before the unpleasant outcome. In the world of Melty Blood, this girl effectively uses her ability to stay focused on the battle and remain deeply devoted to her master.

Personality

Ushiwakamaru has little to no social skills, but she tries to hide this. In childhood, the girl liked to be playful and careless. After deep training with her teacher, Ushi has become seriously focused on the art of sword fights. It sometimes feels that she doesn't care about anything except war.

Ushiwakamaru is very talented, but one aspect of her personality may be a serious problem. She has no fear during battles. Her cool-headed nature is a risk of falling into recklessness.

Playstyle

In the fights of Melty Blood: Type Lumina, Ushiwakamaru can move over the stages with surprising speed and thus easily punish her opponents or find unexpected openings. Naturally, the character can relatively easily avoid attacks and draw herself to safety.

Her mixups are versatile, and the pressure is dangerous. But on the other hand, Ushi has low health and some significant risks — for example, extended hurboxes during pokes.

Perhaps, the playstyle of Ushiwakamaru nicely reflects her strategic thinking as a military general. The players should develop this skill to plan their actions strategically to get the max out of this fighting character.

Appearance

The girl wears samurai armor and also traditional Japanese clothes over it. The sword is a crucial part of her outfit.

Ushiwakamaru has long dark hair. She was summoned to Melty Blood as a teenager, so naturally, she looks like a beautiful young girl.
